We are aware that many flat blades have constraints such as a “Minimum Blade Height” (the name may vary, but the measurement is from the back of the blade for single edged blades to the edge or from the center line of the blade to the edge for double edged blades) that we need to take into account. We will ask if your machine has such constraints before we accept the blade for sharpening so we will not waste your money sharpening a blade that will be below the Minimum Blade Height. If available, a PDF of your manual containing this information will be helpful in determining if a blade still has enough life left to sharpen again.

Paper Guillotine Blades come in regular High Carbon Steel (HCS) and usually they are also stainless steel, Then they come in a much more durable steel High Speed Steel(HSS). HSS is somewhere between 5 and 20 TIMES more durable than HCS.

For Double Edged Blades, take the length of the edge, multiply it by 2, then multiply by the Per Inch of Edge number and that allows the cost to be computed.
